Use -i and -heavy to re-report with count sorting Timeline format: stacks are sorted chronologically Path: /Applications/Contacts.app/Contents/MacOS/Contactsĭuration: 1.09s (process was unresponsive for 162 seconds before sampling) But those thousands of duplicate cards went away, at least for the two persons for whom I looked yesterday.Įach time I do a force-quit, the OS sends an error report to Apple. I moved all the extras out to the Desktop and restarted the computer. I do not recall seeing the extra plists in that folder the previous time I looked. They are all differently numbered, and some date back seven years. In addition to my original plist, I found 58 different in there. I looked again in User>Library>Preferences. I restarted the computer and opened Contacts. Again Contacts hung. I did a force-quit and restored my original plist to User>Library>Preferences. I dragged the out onto the Desktop and restarted the computer. I selected “merge selected cards.” This time Contacts hung. ![]() I scrolled down the list of cards, and I found another person with 1,415 cards. Yesterday I selected the tool to merge the cards. I have seen this mass duplication before. I found over 1,100 entries for this person. The problem started when I opened the application to look for someone. Yesterday my Contacts application stopped working. Contacts oddities Here is the strangest story I have posted yet.
